【H25フィンランド留学生滞在記】第6週目5月27日〜6月2日
この滞在記は，2名のフィンランド交換留学生が2013年4月22日に釧路に到着してから，3か月の留学体験とおして色々感じた日本での生活，学校生活などを語って頂く滞在記です。
今週は1か月の短期留学で釧路高専に来ていた4名のタイ男子留学生が帰国する週です。賑やかだった学校生活が少し寂しくなります。両名はお別れのカードを作り，カードに名前を書いてもらうために奔走しました。釧路空港でも賑やかにタイ留学生を見送りました。
来週は，前期中間テストの期間を利用して札幌小旅行を企画しており，両名とも楽しみにしています。
Weekly Report 6 (Heidi Rauvala)
This week I was sick on Monday so I was only on the expression lesson. On Tuesday we had again self-study and project study. In the start of the week we didn’t have any homework from the advanced programming so we just continued doing our projects. Last week I started doing as my project a kit for a horse but this week I came to the conclusion that I don’t have enough skill and knowledge of the advanced features to make it as good looking as I want to so I changed my project into something that is not as close to my heart so I can manage with some small mistakes and imperfections. On Wednesday we didn’t have other lessons but English with Brian and we mainly just helped the Japanese students to study for their test next week. On Thursday we had normally the self-study in the morning and we continued with our projects just like on the evening in the project study. I changed my project into aquarium and even though it isn’t that hard of a subject it hasn’t been without its problems. Most of my problems are again because I think too hard way and wonder how I would get the things done and can’t see the easiest and most obvious way. On Thursday evening we gathered all; me, Milka and Munjuu, to Munjuus room and we started making cards for the Thai students who were leaving the next day. On Friday we again continued on the morning with the project and then went to the advanced programming lesson where we were given a new homework. The time after lunch went pretty much running around because Munjuu asked us to get the cards from Virak and then hunting down people for their names on the cards and planning the trip on next week. Finally we got everyone to agree that we meet at specific time in the library and we got everybody’s name to the cards. Later that day we went to the airport to say goodbyes to the boys.
On weekend I didn’t do too much, Saturday went pretty much on sleeping and later a little stroll before shopping. Sunday went while cleaning the room and fighting with internet that didn’t work. The internet wouldn’t be that much of a problem if we wouldn’t need it on our trip.
Next week plans are pretty much having a ton of fun in Sapporo because there is a test week now and we don’t need to take part on it.
Apologies for not many pictures but didn’t do much where would have gotten any pictures. Next week probably will be a lot more to choose from.

月曜日は，具合が悪かったので表現の授業のみ出席しました。火曜日は，自習やプロジェクトに取り組みましたが，今週のアドバンスド・プログラミングで課題が何も出なかったために集中することができました。先週，馬のキットを作成し始めたのですが，形を整えるのにまだ十分な知識が自分にはないと気づいたので，そこまで難しくないものに変更しました。水曜日は特別な授業はなく，ブライアン先生の英会話では主に学生のテスト勉強の手伝いをしていました。木曜日の朝は自習をして，それから夕方までずっとプロジェクトに取り組みました。テーマを水族館に変更したのですが，簡単だとは言ってもやはり問題はいくつかあります。その問題のほとんどは簡単で明確な方法が見えず，どうしても難しい方向で考えてしまうということです。木曜日の夕方，ムンジュさんの部屋にみんなで集まり，明日帰ってしまうタイの学生へのメッセージカードを作成しました。金曜日の朝には，またプロジェクトに取り組み，アドバンスド・プログラミングの授業では新しい課題が出ました。昼休みは，ムンジュさんにタイの学生のメッセージを書いてくれる人たちをできるだけたくさん集めて欲しいと頼まれたので校内をまわり，それに自分たちの来週の旅行の計画をしたりと，とても忙しく過ごしました。結局，みんなが指定の時間に図書館に集合してくれたので，たくさんの人がメッセージを書いてくれました。その後，タイの学生たちを見送りに空港へ向かいました。
週末は特に何もせずのんびり過ごしました。土曜日は寝て，買い物の前に少し散歩をしたくらいです。日曜日はインターネットの問題を解決したり，部屋の掃除をしたりしました。旅行でネットを使う機会がなければ，特に問題があっても大丈夫です。
来週はテスト期間ですが，私たちは受ける必要がないので札幌で思い切り楽しんでこようと思っています。
今週写真が少なくて申し訳ないですが，写真を撮るほど多くのことをしていないということです。しかし来週はレポートに載せる写真も選ぶのが難しくなるほどだと思います。

Weekly Report 6 (Milka Tossasvainen)
During this week I made more drawings of the models I’m planning to make and also made some of them with POV-Ray already. I’m not focused on the looks too much yet, because it is important to get everything work first. There should be time to do little details and other things later.
On Monday we got new task in special experimentation class. The task was related to circuits, so I had some trouble understanding it because I have never been good at the subject.
On Wednesday morning we almost overslept because Heidi’s phone, which we use as a alarm clock, run out of battery during the night, so we woke up when we normally would start walking to the school. In the end we only missed the breakfast though. When was the time to Eric’s English lesson to start, we didn’t see anyone around and we heard later that Eric hasn’t come back from America yet so there wasn’t even supposed to be a class today.
On Thursday evening we made farewell cards for all four Thai students with Munjuu. I made the drawings, Heidi colored them and Munjuu did the writing part. The next day we asked several people to sign the cards, but we had hard time finding everyone. In the end we decided to meet with everyone in the library. Gopal didn’t get the message though, so we had to search for him later. In the evening we went to the airport to see the Thai students off. It’s a bit sad that they already left, one month is really short time.
On Saturday I went shopping to nearest AEON with Heidi. Anyone else couldn’t come because everyone has tests next week. I bought a three way chopsticks that can be used as a spoon, fork or just like a normal chopsticks, they’re quite fun and very convenient.
On Sunday we noticed that there was something wrong with the internet, so we spent most of the day trying to figure out what is wrong with it, and we were also cleaning our room during that time. We managed to find someones old Pokemon game under Heidi’s bed while we were cleaning, I have no idea who it belongs to. In the evening I was preparing for the presentation for the Scientific Presentation class in the next morning.
Next week we are planning to go Sapporo on Monday with the night bus and on Sunday night we will take a night bus to back here.

今週はこれから作成する図の案を考え，POV-Rayを使って実際にいくつか作成しました。まず正常に動くかどうかが問題なので，外観にはあまりこだわっていません。細かなところは後回しにします。
月曜日には特別実験の授業がありました。回路に関連した授業で，私の得意の分野ではなかったので理解するのには時間がかかりました。
水曜日の朝，アラーム代わりにしているヘイディさんの携帯の充電が夜中に切れてしまったため寝坊してしまいました。しかし結局朝食の時間に間に合わなかっただけで済んだので良かったです。エリック先生の英会話の時間になったのですが周りに学生の姿は見えず後で聞いたところまだアメリカから戻ってこないようで，授業はありませんでした。
木曜日の夕方，ムンジュさんとタイの学生へのお別れのメッセージカードを作りました。私が絵を描き，ヘイディさんが色を塗ってムンジュさんがメッセージを書きました。翌日数名の学生にメッセージを頼みましたが，個別に声かけをするのが大変だったので，図書館で集まってもらうことにしました。メッセージを書いてない人もいて後でまた探さなければなりませんでした。そして夕方，みんなでタイの学生を見送りに空港へ向かいました。一ヶ月はとても短い期間ですので彼らがいなくなると寂しくなります。
土曜日はヘイディさんと近い方のイオンに買い物に出かけました。みんなは来週テストがあるので忙しく，一緒には来られませんでした。この日私が購入したものはスプーン，フォーク，そして普通の箸として３通りの使い方ができるすぐれものです。珍しくてとても便利だと思います。
日曜日はインターネットで少し問題が生じていることに気づき，解決するのに時間がかかったので，その間に自分の部屋の掃除もしました。ヘイディさんのベッドの下にポケモンのゲームを見つけたのですが誰のものだったのでしょうか。まだわかっていません。夕方は翌日の科学表現のプレゼンの準備をしました。
来週の予定は，月曜日に夜行バスで札幌に向かい，翌週の日曜に同じく夜行バスで釧路に戻ってきます。
