第１週目4月21日〜4月27日
この滞在記は，５名のタイの交換留学生が2014年4月21日に釧路に到着してからの寮生活や学校生活など，これから一か月間の留学体験とおして色々感じた日本での生活，学校生活などを語って頂く滞在記です。
英語に文法誤りやスペルミスが時々ありますが，ここでは留学生の原文を大切にし，そのまま載せております。
なお，留学生が滞在する寮は，王子製紙(株)釧路工場様のご厚意により独身寮の提供を頂きました。併せて御礼申し上げます。
Weekly Report （Em）
1st Week （April 21〜27，2014）
On 21th of April the first of this program, We arrived here at Kushiro Airport in early morning, everything are fine except some of us are tired of traveling by plane, and I also sleepy. Prof. Komatsu, Mr. Aoyama and Mr. Akita are waiting for us at terminal, we met and get to know each other. Then we go to KNCT (Kushiro National College of Technology) by cars. I remember that, the first step outside the airport terminal was very impressing me, it’s a cold weather. I’m awaking from sleepy now and feel very refreshing. The temperature indicator outside say 9 Celsius degrees, this is the coldest temperature I ever seen. At the KNCT, The president and many professor of KNCT are welcome us with the warm atmosphere. They lend us bicycles and then we move to the dormitory outside the KNCT.
On Tuesday, We have breakfast at the dormitory, the taste was quite good. On this day, we got introduced about the campus, also computer network of KNCT, and we have a lunch at the school’s cafeteria. The cafeteria was very small but it still amazing. They have a machine for selling the food coupon. The lunch are taste good. After lunch, I‘ve walk and look around KNCT. The building here are in small seize if compare to my university. But the buildings are modern. It have many sensor and automatic switch for saving an energy and also for convenient, the lights are automatically turn on and off in the walk way even in the toilet. In laboratory, I have met my lab tutor. His name is Co-Hei, he from Obihiro near the Kushiro city. And we discuss about my research here with prof.Komatsu.
On Wednesday, Prof.Komatsu pick up us at the dormitory. Today we have a sightseeing tour at the Kushiro downtown. We going to fisher man whaf, There are fish market and many shop here. On second floor, the board are show detail of Kushiro city and whale hunting in the past. And also product from Hokkaido. After that, we go to Manabotto, it is the good view point in Kushiro city. Which we can see the city tenth floor. Then we have a lunch at restaurant in Big House Mall and buy some stuff from local stores.
On Thursday, I’m working on research about NOAA Satellites Systems and NOAA receiver background. In this research I have to build NOAA receiver by assembly the circuits from kit, which I’m not good in (I’m good at programing). The receiver kit are come with the manual, however the manual are writing in Japanese. So I try to translate it by computer but the Japanese Typing are complex, it not easy as I thought. In evening prof.Komatsu explain the block diagram of the receiver. The systems was simple and easy, but I worried about hardware circuit which I have less experienced. At Night, Ours Thai student group are going to restaurant near to the store to have a dinner. The menu are only in Japanese, some of them have a picture and some of them doesn’t. So I decided to random the menu, Bad luck, I got the seafood Tonkatsu from my random order. Today, I’ve ate a lot of Tonkatsu. 4 meal of Tonkatsu, but luckily, the seafood Tonkatsu was very delicious.
On Friday, We go to downtown to meet the city mayor. All of us are very exciting. And we got some interview from the newspaper. Then prof. Komatsu take us to look around at Washo Market. At Market, we can see a lot of seafood there. Many food here are look tasty especially the big crab. The Hokkaido crab are very big unlike the crab in our country. And we get back to KNCT. I have looking for datasheet of some IC. On this day, We have plan a new program of golden week with prof. Komatsu.
On Saturday, We have Akan lake trip, it take about 1 hour for driving. The temperature was change dynamically. Today is a little bit warm, no need of sweater. The forest beside the way to Akan are green and still have a lot of snow on the ground. First times we have seen the snow, everyone look exciting. When we arrived there, we take a lot of photos. This place is very fantastic, the lake are frozen, and the mountain have snow on the top. I think this trip is more wonderful as I expect. At lunchtime, I have a deer ramen, the taste was good but nothing special. We thanks to Prof. Komatsu. He take care all of Thai student and teacher’s bills. After lunch, we buy souvenir. The souvenir here are very creative and fine. Today, we are very tired.
On Sunday, We go to the AEON shopping mall with prof. Komatsu and other foreign student. The mall are not too big, and we have lunch here at KFC. The food here also a bit different to KFC in Thailand. At evening, we to second hand shop, this shop is very interesting, a lot of stuff here are in good condition and sell at the cheap prices.

4月21日の早朝に釧路空港へ到着しました。少し疲れてはいましたが，順調に来ることができました。小松先生，青山さん，そして秋田さんが空港まで迎えに来てくださり，釧路高専へと向かいました。空港から外に出ると，外の空気がとても冷たかったのが印象的でした。すっかり眠気は吹き飛びました。外気温計が9度を示していたのですが，こんな低い数値を見るのは生まれて初めてです。釧路高専では，校長の他たくさんの先生たちが温かく迎えてくださいました。そして，学校側が自転車を貸してくださったので，自転車に乗って校外にある寮へと向かいました。
火曜日の事ですが，朝食は寮の食堂でいただきました。とても美味しかったです。学校では，学校紹介とネットワークガイダンスがありました。昼ご飯は学生食堂で食べました。学食は決して広くはありませんが，食券を売る販売機があったり，料理も美味しいので満足しています。食後は校内を散策しました。釧路高専の校舎は，KMITLと比べると建物は小さいようですが，近代的です。校内に設置されているセンサーや自動スイッチは，省エネと便利さとの両方を兼ねています。トイレでさえも，入退室に合わせ自動でオンオフするのです。その後は，学生チュータで帯広出身のコウヘイさんを紹介してもらいました。そして，小松先生と，今後の研究について話し合いました。
水曜日は，釧路市内の観光ツアーへ連れて行ってもらいました。朝，小松先生が寮まで迎えに来てくださり，フィッシャーマンズワーフMOOへと向かいました。魚市場の他にも色々なお店がありました。2階には，釧路市と過去の捕鯨に関する詳細を記したボードや，北海道の特産品などが展示されていました。その後，生涯学習センターまなぼっとの10階から釧路市内の景色を一望しました。そしてビッグハウス内のレストランで昼食をとり，買い物をして帰ってきました。
木曜日は，NOAAサテライトシステムとNOAAレシーバーの背景について研究をしました。この研究では，僕の苦手なNOAAレシーバーを構築しなければなりません。僕が得意なのはプログラミングなのです。レシーバーキットには，マニュアルが附属されていますが，すべて日本語で書かれています。パソコンで翻訳してみましたが，日本語は僕が思っていたより複雑でした。夕方，小松先生が，レシーバーのブロックダイアグラムの説明をしてくださいました。そのシステムはシンプルではありましたが，ハードウエア回路に関してはあまり経験がないのでまだまだ心配です。夜は，僕たちタイの留学生全員で近くのレストランへ行きました。メニューは全て日本語で書かれていました。写真付きのものもあれば，ないものもありました。適当にメニューから選んでみたのですが，残念なことに，それはシーフードフライでした。なぜ残念かと言うと，今日一日で4度もフライを食べることになったからです。でも，ここで食べたシーフードフライもとても美味しかったので良しとします。
金曜日は，釧路市長表敬訪問がありました。皆とてもわくわくしていました。それから，新聞の取材を受けました。その後小松先生が和商市場へ連れて行ってくださいました。和商市場ではたくさんの海産物が売られていました。特に大きな蟹がおいしそうでした。北海道の蟹はタイのものよりもずっと大きいように思います。高専に帰ってきてからは，半導体ICのデータシートを探しました。そして，小松先生とゴールデンウィークの過ごし方について計画を立てました。
土曜日は，車で一時間ほどかけて，阿寒湖方面ツアーへ行きました。気温はガラっと変わり，少し暖かくなったのでセーターを着る必要はありませんでした。阿寒へ行く途中の森にはまだ雪がたくさん残っていました。みんな，生まれて初めて雪を見たので，とても興奮していました。阿寒湖（オンネトー）では，たくさんの写真を撮りました。湖は凍り，山の頂上は雪で覆われ，とても素晴らしい景色でした。そして，阿寒湖方面ツアーは僕が予想していたよりもずっとずっと素晴らしいものでした。昼食では鹿肉ラーメンを食べました。美味しかったのですが，特別変わったものでもありませんでした。小松先生は，僕たち留学生全員と付き添いの先生の分まで全てご馳走してくださいました。本当にありがとうございました。食後はお土産を買いに行きました。ここのお土産店の製品はとてもクリエイティブでどれも素晴らしかったです。この日は皆とても疲れていました。
日曜日，僕たちタイの留学生と小松先生と他のプログラムで参加している留学生達でイオンショッピングセンターへ行きました。ランチはイオン内のケンタッキーで食べました。タイのケンタッキーとは少し味が違いました。夕方，リサイクルショップへ行きました。ここで売られている中古品の多くは状態もよく，そして値段も安かったのです。とても興味深かったです。

1st Week （April 21〜27，2014）
〈April 21,2014〉Monday
We arrival at Kushiro Airport at the morning. Weather is cold for me. We were taken to dormitory to keep my bags and go to school. We met each lead professor. I Meet Prof. Takahashi my lead professor and Mr. Konishi my tutor. We take about my project theme. Today my project theme is use Vargrant and Cloudstack to make a cloud services. And I never use that. I wish my project theme is changed.In the evening, We take a tour around dormitory by walk. Find nearly convenient store.

In the morning, We go to school. We were taken a tour around school and go to my lab. Prof. Takahashi told me my project theme was change to create a website to post photo&story of exchange students must to have authentication, using Ruby on Rails. I like this project theme. In the afternoon, I learn how to use internet in school. I Meet my lab friends. I set up my personal computer until time up but it not ?nish.

In the morning, We go to sightseeing at Kushiro downtown and shopping for necessary living.In the afternoon, I set up my personal computer until time up but it not ?nish. In the evening, I go to super market buy some delicious food. I get Sushi and Sashimi, it was fresh then Bangkok.
〈April 24,2014〉Thursday
In the morning, I go to lab and set up my personal computer, Upgrade Ubuntu server to Ubuntu desktop it take a long time. So, I go to launch.In the afternoon, I go to lab and Ubuntu was upgraded to Ubuntu server. then,I waste my time on internet proxy. And ?nally I get help from my tutor. Then, I install Ruby and Rails but it not ?nish again.

In the morning, I go to city hall to meet city mayor.
In the afternoon, I go to lab and continues install Ruby on Rails. Finally install is complete. It take a long time to set up my personal computer because is ?rst time to use Ubuntu to install Ruby on rails, so it have many problem with permission and proxy.

2014年4月21日
釧路空港には午前中に到着しました。釧路の天候はとても寒く感じました。学校に着いてからは，僕たち留学生を指導してくださる担当の先生達とお会いしました。僕の担当の先生は高橋先生です。そして学生チューター小西君ともお会いました。僕たちは，それぞれ自分の研究テーマに取り組むのですが，僕の研究テーマはベイグラントとクラウドスタックを使ってクラウドサービスを構築する事です。全く経験がなかったので，テーマを変更できれば良いのにと思いました。
夜には寮の回りを散策してみました。近くにコンビニを発見しました。
2014年4月22日
午前中は，校内の見学ツアーに連れて行ってもらいました。残りの時間は研究室で過ごしました。高橋先生が，僕の研究テーマがRuby on Railsを使ったウェブサイト構築に変更になったと教えてくださいました。僕はこの研究テーマが気に入りました。
午後は，高専内でのインターネットの使い方について教わりました。その後は，時間ぎりぎりまで自分で使うパソコンの設定を行っていたのですが，終わりませんでした。
2014年4月23日
この日の午前中は，釧路の繁華街を見学に行き，生活必需品などを買いました。
午後にはまた，パソコンの設定を行ったのですが，時間内に終える事は出来ませんでした。
夜は，スーパーでお寿司やお刺身などを買いました。ここで買ったお寿司やお刺身は，タイで売られているものよりもずっと新鮮で，そして美味しかったです。
2014年4月24日
午前中は研究室でパソコンの設定を行いました。Ubuntuサーバーをアップグレードしていたのですが，とても時間がかかるので，お昼を食べに行きました。
研究室に戻ると，Ubuntuはアップグレードされていましたが，インターネットプロキシの設定に時間がかかっていました。途中でチューターに手伝ってもらって，Ruby and Railsをインストールでしました。でも，まだ全部終わってはいません。
2014年4月25日
午前中は，釧路市長へ表敬訪問に伺いました。
午後は，研究室でRuby on Railsのインストールの続きを行いました。そして，ついにインストールが完了しました。パソコンの設定には本当に時間がかかりました。なぜなら，Ubuntuで，Ruby on rails のインストールを行うのは初めてだったからです。パーミッションとプロキシで手こずりました。

この日は休日です。小松先生が僕たちを阿寒方面へ連れて行ってくださいました。

この日も休日だったので，小松先生がショッピングモールへ連れて行ってくださいました。

1st Week （April 21〜27，2014）
April 21(Monday)
In the first day I’m meeting with my lead professor (Dr. Kohei Fukuchi) and my tutor (Mr. Hajime Nomura). We talk about my training theme in KNCT and my training theme is “Performance Evaluation of New Universal Testing Machine with Wood, Metal and Composite Materials”.
April 22(Tuesday)
In the second day Dr. Kohei Fukuchi advise me about the mechanical department and this day I meet Prof. Takahashi Tsuyoshi and Mr. Kabayashi Isao. In the afternoon I have a meeting with another people in this laboratory and introduce myself and Dr. Kohei Fukuchi and I set up my personal computer and connect an internet.
April 23(Wednesday)
In the third day in the morning I sightseeing at Kushiro downtown.in afternoon I read the some paper research about the composite materials (Al/VGCF) and Dr. Kohei Fukuchi explain to me about his research.
April 24(Thursday)
In the fourth day Prof. Takahashi Tsuyoshi teach me to use the Tensile Test Machine. We test with a small timber(5x5x10 cm3).
April 25(Friday)
In the fifth day in the morning I go to The City hall of Kushiro city to meet the city mayor. In the afternoon Mr. Kabayashi Isao teach me and Mr. Eguchi Takahito to use the some machine such as Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM), Laser Scanning Microscope, Light Microscope and Metal Forming Machine. In this day I have a nice experience.
April 26(Saturday)
In the sixth day I go to The Akan Lake. I buy some souvenir and I learn about the history of The Ainu native.
April 27(Sunday)
In the seventh day I go to the shopping mall.

4月21日(月)
初日は，僕の指導教員である福地先生と学生チュータの野村君と会いました。ここで取り組む研究テーマについて話しあったのですが，僕の研究テーマは，「木材および金属と複合材料による新しい万能試験機のパフォーマンス評価」です。
4月22日（火）
2日目は，福地先生が，機械工学科について説明してくださいました。それから，高橋剛先生と小林勲さんにお会いしました。午後にはこの研究室に所属する他の人たちと自己紹介を兼ねたミーティングを行いました。その後，福地先生と一緒に，僕がここで使用するパソコンのセットアップとインターネットの設定を行いました。
4月23日（水）
3日目の午前中は釧路市内の観光へ行きました。午後は，複合材料についての論文を読みました。また，福地先生の行っている研究についてもお聞きしました。
4月24日（木）
4日目は，高橋剛先生が，張力試験機の使い方を教えてくださいました。小さな木材（5×5×10立法センチメートル）をテストしてみました。
4月25日（金）
5日目の午前中は，釧路市長へ表敬訪問に訪れました。午後は，小林勲さんが，江口さんと僕に電界放出走査型電子顕微鏡，レーザ走査顕微鏡，光学顕微鏡，金属形成機械の使い方を教えてくださいました。とても良い経験ができたと思います。
4月26日（土）
6日目は，阿寒湖へ行きました。お土産を買ったり，アイヌ民族について学んだりしました。
4月27日（日）
7日目はショッピングモールへ行きました。

1st Week （April 21〜27，2014）

First day ,We arrived in Japan and Kushiro around 9.30 A.M. And came to KNCT around 10.30 A.M. We went to meet Professor at KNCT’s president room. Then we moved to our Dormitory. And came back to KNCT for prepare to internship in Kushiro for 30days, and have guidance about decorum in Japan. And we separated to each lab to prepare about each project.
For my department, I met Prof. Nishizawa, and talk about what I’ll do in my project. Prof. Nishizawa asked me about what am I interesting. I’m interesting in culture architecture, So Prof. Nishizawa took me to see SHISE(チセ). And Prof. gave me some text book about Japan architecture. In finally we decided to make project about YUUSUHARA WOODEN BRIDGE MUSEUM,KENGO KUMA. And then , We came back to lab and greeting to my tutor Chiba Daiki.
22/04/14
We came to KNCT at 9.45A.M. And we went to meeting to Prof. Komattsu to have collage tour in this morning. After lunch We separated to each lab. And I got one of little project from Prof. Nishizawa, To make a model of HANJUUKI, this is an architecture from a Hokkaido’s architect who is famous. So I took time to make model of HANJUUKI for adjust myself to work in KNCT.

In this morning we went to local area for shopping what we didn’t have for daily’s life. And we came back to KNCT in afternoon. I came back to continue my small project. And this day I met more friends in lab. During daytime I worked for my project and little language re-lesson
24/04/14
In this morning, I had to self-study. So I came to KNCT’s library to find some book about my project. I wanted to know more what they think. And in this afternoon I took my time for continue my model. In this day, there had many people in lab. They greeted me and taught Japanese to me. 25/04/14
In morning we went to city hall to meet leader of this town. In afternoon I came back to lab and finished my small project. Then I came to a classroom to see model truss bridge weight test of KNCT’s student. That Prof. Nishizawa promised to take me to see this class. This class is very good thing to leaning by real experience. It‘s very interesting. During daytime I worked for my project and little language re-lesson

Today we went to Lake AKAN traveling place of Kushiro. We also go to the Ai-Nu village too. So I have seen Ai-Nu’s history in museum. I think Ai-Nu are once who can use their resource in very appropriate design. It’s very interesting.
27/04/14
Today we went to shopping more again at AEON. But today we have other exchange students to go with us too. In today I didn’t bay something much but I took time to speak with the other. It makes me see another perspective from other exchange student. Today I didn’t work in my project.
Issues and problems
I have a little problem in communication. I often use wrong grammar English and Japanese, both of them. So sometime communication are often misunderstood. So I’ll re-lesson about grammar if I have time, To clear this problem.

Impression and remark
I impress in everyone attempt to understand my communication. I’m very happy .And when I’m here. I have chance to use Japanese in real communication that I never have this in Thailand. Other than. I impress in Kushiro’s nature. Kushiro have very nice air, many tree.
From this day, I’ll internship in Department of architecture, Kushiro national collage of technology, Kushiro-shi, Hokkaido, JapanMy Prof. ‘s name is Nisizawa. He is professor at department of architecture So from this day, Niizawa sensai will be who signature in internship’s book

午前9時半頃釧路に着き，釧路高専には10時半頃に到着しました。それから，校長室で先生達とお会いした後，寮へ移動しました。高専に戻ってきてからは，日本の礼儀作法などを教わったり，これからの滞在の準備を行いました。そして，それぞれの研究室へ行き，各自研究の準備を始めました。
研究室では，西澤先生と今後のプロジェクトについて話し合いました。どんな事に興味があるか聞いてくださったので，文化建築に興味があるとお答えしたら，学校内にあるチセを見に連れて行ってくださいました。それから，西澤先生は，日本の建築に関する本をくださいました。最終的に，「隈研吾 梼原 木橋ミュージアム」について研究する事に決まりました。それから研究室に戻り，僕の担当チュータである千葉君と挨拶をしました。
2014年4月22日
この日は9時45分頃に登校し，午前中は校内見学ツアーが行われ，午後はそれぞれの研究室に分かれて研究に取り組みました。僕は反住器モデルの製作課題に取りかかりました。反住器とは，北海道の有名な建築家による建築の事です。
2014年4月23日
午前中は日用品を買いに行き，午後は学校へ戻り，課題の続きを行いました。この日は研究室で，さらにたくさんの友達と知り合いました。日中は主に課題に取り組み，その他には言語の復習も少し行いました。
2014年4月24日
午前中は自習だったので，学校の図書館へ行き，今やっている課題に関する本を探して来ました。そして，午後はまた建築モデルの製作の続きを行いました。この日は研究室にたくさん人が訪れ，挨拶をしたり，また，日本語を教えてくれたりしました。日中は，課題の取り組みと言語の復習に費やしました。
2014年4月25日
午前中は釧路市長へ表敬訪問に伺いました。午後は研究室へ戻り，模型のプロジェクトを完成させました。それから，釧路高専の学生によるモデルトラス橋の重量テストの授業を見学しに行きました。この授業は，実際の体験から学ぶ事ができるので，とても素晴らしいと思います。とても興味深いものがありました。
2014年4月26日
この日は，釧路の観光地である阿寒湖畔とアイヌ部落へ行きました。博物館ではアイヌの歴史について学んだのですが，アイヌの人々は，自分たちの資源をとても適切なデザインで利用していて，素晴らしいと思いました。
2014年4月27日
この日はAEONへ買い物に出かけました。今回は，他の国の留学生達も一緒に行きました。あまり買い物はせず，お話ばかりしていました。他国の留学生と話すことで，新たな視野が広がりました。この日は，特に研究活動はしませんでした。
《課題および問題点》
コミュニケーションに少し問題を抱えています。僕は，たびたび英語と日本語の文法を間違ってしまうので，勘違いや行き違いが起こってしまうのです。なので，時間がある時は，文法の勉強をしようと思います。

皆さん，僕が言っている事を理解しようとしてくれて，とても嬉しく思います。また，ここでは実際の会話で日本語を使うという貴重な経験ができ，さらには釧路の自然，素晴らしい空気，豊かな樹木，すべてが印象的です。

April 21 Mon
We arrive to Tokyo in morning and wait 2 hr to go Kushiro . When we arrive to we meet Prof. Komatsu. I introduce myself and go to KNCT .We meet chancellor and teacher of KNCT. after that We go to dormitory keep bag and back to KNCT again . when we arrive to KNCT.We talk about Hand book and wait for each professor. My lead professor is Prof. Chida.We go to laboratory . Talk about my work . Chida sensei is very kind.After that we back to dormitory and wait for sensei check room and ingrain internet.
April 22 Tue
We go to KNCT for research in laboratory.after that We go to computer room get ID and password for use computer and internet in KNCT. Then we back to work in laboratory again. After school over sensei give bicycle for go and back dormitory and KNCT.
April 23 Wed
We go to sightseeing at Kushiro downtown. We go to fisherman wharf. After that we back to KNCT for research in laboratory.
April 24 Thus
We research in laboratory all day.
April 25 Fri
We meet city major. After that We back to laboratory for research.
April 26 Sat
We go to Akan lake there is frozen lake so beautiful. We go to Ainu village. I bought owl bundle. We have lunch in Ainu village. I eat deer meat raman. I can’t say delicious but not bad.Thank you Komatsu sensei

We go to shopping mall until evening. I impress in goods something is cheap than in Thailand.We have lunch at KFC. I Think in Japan good than in Thailand but expensive.

朝東京に到着し，2時間後に釧路行きの飛行機へ乗りました。空港では小松先生にお会いし，高専へと向かいました。学校に着いてからは，先生やカウンセラーの人たちとお会いしました。その後，一度寮へ行ってから，また学校へ戻り，ハンドブックの説明を受け，指導担当の先生達を待ちました。僕を指導してくださる先生は，千田先生という方でした。それから研究室へ移動し，今後の研究について話し合いました。千田先生はとても親切な方です。
2014年4月22日
この日は，パソコンとインターネットを使う為のIDとパスワードをもらいました。それから研究室に戻り研究を行いました。放課後には，通学ための自転車を借りました。
2014年4月23日
釧路市内の観光へ行きました。フィッシャーマンズワーフMOOへ行きました。その後は，学校へ戻り，研究を進めました。

この日は一日中研究を行っていました。

釧路市長にお会いしました。その後は研究室で研究を行いました。
2014年4月26日
阿寒湖方面へ行きました。湖は凍っていて，とても美しかったです。それからアイヌ部落へ行き，僕はそこでフクロウのバンドル（？）を買いました。お昼には，鹿肉のラーメンを食べました。決してすごく美味しいとは言えませんが，悪くはありませんでした。小松先生，ありがとうございました。
2014年4月27日
この日はショッピングモールへ行きました。中には，タイの物よりも安く売られている物があって，びっくりしました。お昼はケンタッキーで食べました。味はタイのケンタッキーよりも美味しいのですが，値段が高いです。
