【H25フィンランド留学生滞在記】第4週目5月13日〜5月19日
この滞在記は，2名のフィンランド交換留学生が2013年4月22日に釧路に到着してから，3か月の留学体験とおして色々感じた日本での生活，学校生活などを語って頂く滞在記です。
両名ともプロジェクトの中身が固まり，勉強を進めている様です。
授業にもいくつか選んで出ているようで，エリック先生の英語クラスは楽しそうです。
今週から金曜日に神谷先生の奥様による日本語の授業もスタートしました。
週末は留学生全員と指導教員やチュータたちとバスツアーで丹頂鶴を見に行くなど，湿原の探索を楽しみ，翌日は釧路川のカヌー川下りを楽しんでいます。その様子は釧路高専ウェブサイトでご覧ください。

Weekly Report 4 (Heidi Rauvala)
This week weekdays were kind of the same except of the few convenience store trips and new lesson on Monday called experimentation or something like that and on Friday we had our first Japanese lesson with Julia (?). The Mondays lesson is kind of boring in my opinion but I am waiting for the next project to see if it gets any more interesting and after that choose if I continue the course or not. Also in Tuesday we were invited to take part on a volley ball tournament and I was pretty much useless on the tournament but it was fun never the less and we ate our “prize” goodies together with Munjuu in her room.
On Wednesday Munjuu invited us to take part on the English conversation lesson held by Eric and it was a ton of fun and I really hope to be able to take part of it again too! On the Fridays Japanese lesson we just pretty much had fun and learned whatever the Thai students wanted to know. Other vice we just read the theory but because it is starting to be boring it was nice change to do homework for advanced programming and even get some hands on practice on pov-ray.
Finally we got to the weekend and it started happening and a lot. On Saturday we left from the dormitory at around 10am by bus to our sightseeing tour to the wetlands. The first stop was at a crane sanctuary or something like that were we got to see a lot of beautiful cranes. Just before we left with Milka from the other end to walk back we noticed a fox on the other side of the line and I was able to snap a picture of it before it got too far away. After the cranes we hopped into the bus and continued our trip towards our next destination that was some kind of visitors lounge or something and we got a lot of good pictures of the wetland from there. After a little while of shopping and chatting we continued down to the train station where our sightseeing train would leave in a while. With the train we went through the wetlands and stopped at Kushiro main railway station. From the station we again hopped into the bus and we went for a lunch again to prince hotel and it was again amazing! They have so good deserts! After that we went back to dorm. From the dorm we went for a last trip with me， Milka， Munjuu and Konishi. Konishi drove us to nearby drug store so I could buy medicine to help me.
On Sunday we went again to the wetlands but this time we left already at 8am or at least tried and we had a little stop at a friend of Kamiya sensei to get 5 canoes. After that we drove to a lovely lake where we started our canoeing trip. While on the canoeing trip we saw hawks， few deer， cranes and it was so beautiful! The canoeing trip ended to another lake kind of place and from there we drove back to the first lake to do some barbequing. While waiting to get ready for the barbeque and trying to find Milka (who we didn’t know had left down with Yanagawa sensei) I met a nice couple and their 1 year old beagle. Because they couldn’t speak well English and I was poor at Japanese the communication was interesting but we managed. On that trip I also got me some sunburns. My face and both my arms were burned the next day and my arms were aching from the rowing too. But it was a ton of fun and I would do it again any time!
Plans for next week include at the moment Sakura festival and maybe visiting Kamiya sensei on weekend. And on the week we are asked to participate a new， one time only， lecture. I am a little disappointed that we have to miss an English lesson while there.

今週変わった事がいくつかありました。違うコンビニをいくつかまわったり，月曜日の実験の授業や金曜日はジュリアさん（神谷先生の奥様）による日本語の授業が行われました。月曜の授業は少し退屈でしたが，続けていれば面白くなるかもしれないので，もう少し様子を見てみようと思います。火曜日にはバレーボールの大会があり，あまり力にはなれなかったのですがとても楽しく，また賞としてお菓子をもらったのでムンジュさんの部屋で集まって食べました。
水曜日はムンジュさんがエリック先生の英会話のクラスに招待してくれました。楽しかったのでまた次回も参加したいと思っています。金曜の日本語の授業では，タイの学生がどんなことを知りたいのか，私たちも知ることができました。
ついに週末になり，留学生活もだんだん盛り上がってきました。土曜日は10時に寮を出発しバスで湿原までツアーをしました。まずは鶴の保護区域に行き美しい鶴をたくさん見ました。そこを去る時にミルカさんと反対側の道を歩いているキツネを見つけたので，遠くに行ってしまう前にかろうじて写真を撮ることができました。その後私たちは湿原がきれいに見渡せるラウンジに行き，写真をたくさん撮りました。しばらくおしゃべりをして列車に乗り湿原の景色を見ながら釧路駅に到着し，そこからバスに乗りプリンスホテルでとても美味しいランチをいただきました。デザートも美味しかったです。寮に着いたあとは，ミルカさん，ムンジュさん，小西くんと一緒に近くのドラックストアまで出かけ，薬を買うのに色々アドバイスしてもらいました。
日曜日は朝8時からまた湿原に向かい，神谷先生の友人の分も含めて５つのカヌーをかりて，カヌーツアーに出かけました。カヌーに乗っている間，タカや鹿，鶴などを見れてとてもきれいでした！別の湖まで漕いだあと元の場所に戻りバーベキューを始めました。ミルカさんを探しているあいだ（柳川先生と下の方におりていたとは知らずに）あるご夫妻と１歳のビーグル犬に会いました。彼らは英語があまり話せず私も日本語がうまくなかったのですが，楽しくコミュニケーションがとれたと思います。カヌーで顔と腕が日焼けをしたのと，腕が筋肉痛になってしまいました。でもとても面白かったので是非またやりたいと思っています。
来週は，お花見と，神谷先生のお宅に行く予定です。一度だけ特別に新しい授業を受けることになったので英会話の授業を受けることができないのが少し残念です。

Weekly Report 4 (Milka Tossasvainen)
Like other weeks before， we continued studying POV-Ray during this week and I also was planning my project. During this week I was also doing an assignment that we got from Advanced Programming where we have to make something with POV-Ray. Instead of only reading about POV-Ray I also got some more of practical experience by doing that assignment. It was also very fun to do and I had a chance to test how things work. Some small mistakes in the code made the result to look quite strange at times， but I think it’s good way to learn from that kind of experience sometimes.
We had our first class of Scientific Presentation on Monday. I have to say that I don’t find the class very interesting， but I’m still planning to see if the class would turn to be more interesting later.
I participated in a volleyball tournament that was held on Tuesday. I was rather useless though， because I have played volleyball only few times many years ago， but even still I had fun. After the game we got a bag of all kinds of sweets， drinks and other things. I and Heidi went to Munjuu’s room to eat those.
On Wednesday Munjuu invited us for Eric’s lesson， so we went to see what kind of are his classes. The class was very fun and I laughed a lot. Eric sure talks about all kinds of things. We were planning to continue attending to his class if it’s possible.
On Friday we had our first Japanese lesson that was held by Julia. She was mostly teaching the Thai students， because it was theirs first and last lesson before they go back to Thailand.
On Saturday we went for a sight seeing tour. First we stopped at Japanese Crane Reserve. The cranes are so beautiful. We also saw a glimpse of a fox there. Before we left I also bought soft cream that was delicious. Then we went to the mountains to see the scenery and we came back to Kushiro by a train. In Kushiro we went to eat in the Top of Kushiro restaurant and once again the food there was delicious.
On Sunday we went canoeing， or at least others went. I was staying ashore， because I usually can’t handle small boats or anything similar and I might start feeling sick. It was really beautiful there so I spent my time taking pictures and walking around a little， and I also tried to practice Japanese on my own with an application I have in my phone. It took some time before I noticed that lamp-posts were made to look like a birch tree， they were really well made. Later we had a barbecue， the food was really good.

先週と同様，ＰＯＶについて勉強して自分のプロジェクトの計画も立てました。アドバンスド・プログラミングの授業では課題が出されたのでＰＯＶ―Ｒａｙで何か作成することになりました。課題をこなすことで教科書では身につかない実践的な力が身についたと思います。自分でも面白いと感じましたし，どのように働くのかテストすることもできました。コードに間違いが少しでもあると結果がおかしくなりますが，このような経験から学ぶことも多いです。
科学表現の第一回目の授業が月曜日にありました。そこまで面白いとは思わなかったのですが，このまま続けていたらもっと面白くなるかもしれません。
火曜日はバレーボールの大会に出ました。今まで数えるくらいしかやったことがなかったのであまりみんなの力にはなれなかったですが，楽しめました。ゲームの後にたくさんのお菓子や飲み物をもらい，ムンジュさんの部屋にいって食べました。
水曜日ムンジュさんがエリック先生の英会話の授業に招待してくれました。とても面白く，いろんな話をしてくれました。可能であれば，これからも出たいと思います。
金曜日はジュリアさんによる日本語のレッスンがありました。タイの学生が今月いっぱいで帰ってしまうため，彼らを中心に教えていました。
土曜日，観光に出かけました。まず始めに丹頂自然公園に行きました。とても美しかったです。そこで私たちはきつねも見ることができました。ソフトクリームを食べて山の景色を見ながら列車で釧路まで戻りました。それからプリンスホテルの最上階にあるレストランで食事をいただき，とても美味しかったです。
日曜日はカヌーに出かけました。私はボートを漕いだことがなく少し体調も悪かったので岸で休むことにしました。写真を撮ったり散歩をしたり，自分のアプリで日本語を勉強したりしていました。街灯柱が樺の木に見せかけてあり，よくできていると思いました。その後バーベキューをしました。とても美味しかったです。
